Doug Leddin of www.anpucan.ie – OMiG Winner People’s Choice Award 2015

With the deadline to the 2016 OMiG awards quickly approaching some of last year’s winners were kind enough to answer some questions for us.

Read our series of interviews and learn how digital marketing is evolving in their businesses.

What impact did the OMiG award have on your digital marketing campaign?

It was just fantastic the whole OMIG experience in 2015. Although we wanted to get into the final of best social media and win it we still came out with an amazing prize for people’s choice.

It really helped us to engage more with our customers and learn how each one could help us spread awareness and how we could help them enjoy their night life better.

How has your digital marketing strategy evolved since last year’s win?

Having our eyes set on winning best social media this year we really ramped up our marketing and tried to become smarter with our execution. We brought the online offline with our fake general election campaigns. Created our own unique and funny videos and have driven and spent a lot more time on social media.

Which social media channel has most impact for your business?

It really is a combination of our three main accounts, Facebook, Twitter and now Instagram. Not one is better than the other we have and target different audiences on all three.

What is the funniest campaign you have seen recently?

Am I allowed to say our general election campaign we did around the city? We are biased but it went very well ha!

How do you integrate your online and offline marketing efforts?

We have wrapped a jeep with OMIG awards on the side and our pubs branding and social media links to drive off line potential customers online.  We also have Facebook counters that show live how many fans we have on Facebook located in the bar.  It drives new people in our bar to connect with us online.

What is your greatest digital marketing struggle right now?

Instagram and Twitter changing their timelines has meant we need to adapt and become more engaging to be seen.  It’s also about being creative and not spending loads of money and it’s a struggle to be creative all the time but we are trying our best at the moment.
