OMiG Seminar: Periscope – How to Use Live-Streaming for Business

OMiG are pleased to announce our September Seminar with a practical talk on ‘Periscope – How to Use Live-Streaming for Business.’ Michael Smyth from S.C.C.U.L. Enterprises Ltd will also be speaking at the event, highlighting current projects for Galway’s business community.

The spokesperson for Periscope on the night will be Rebecca Casserly, of the popular blog Bec Boop, who has had considerable success with the new social media platform. Rebecca has built up over 6000 Periscope followers to date and is achieving high engagement levels on a daily basis.

Periscope lets you broadcast live video to the world. Going live will instantly notify your followers, who can join, comment and send you hearts in real time.

Bec Boop is an Irish fashion, beauty & lifestyle blog run by Rebecca Casserly who is currently based in London. Bec Boop was launched in February 2013 and in 2015 was the winner of the OMiG Best Blog award. Rebecca blogs about fashion, beauty, events, travel and more with up to five blog posts per week working with a mix of high-profile brands in Ireland and the UK. In April 2015 Rebecca joined the live-streaming application Periscope under the username @BoopFashionista and has quickly made a name as the Number 1 Content Periscoper in London with her daily broadcasts.

Periscope has enabled Rebecca to introduce her blog to a whole new audience along with making her content more interactive for existing blog readers. By the end of August the @BoopFashioista Periscope channel had over 6,000 periscope followers and 2.4million hearts. Her most popular Periscope broadcast received over 1,500 live viewers with more watching the stream on replay afterwards.

Michael Smyth, General Manager of S.C.C.U.L Enterprises, will be deep diving into key events and projects S.C.C.U.L are working on including plans for 2016. S.C.C.U.L. Enterprises Ltd is a community based company set-up in co-operation with St. Columba’s Credit Union Ltd.
