Inspiration from 2015’s OMiG Winner Digital Leadership

Digital Leadership

Pat Divilly of www.patdivillyfitness.com – Winner Digital Leadership 2015

With the deadline to the 2016 OMiG awards quickly approaching some of last year’s winners were kind enough to answer some questions for us.

Read our series of interviews and learn how digital marketing is evolving in their businesses.

How Has Your Digital Marketing Strategy Evolved?

My strategy is always based around trying to add value to people lives before they’ve even signed up with me. So I ask the question is always what are my ‘followers’ trying to accomplish and how can I help them get there quicker. Then I provide content.

In terms of the evolution of the strategy it’s just looking at different ways of platforms for delivering value. I think video has become more important and the likes of ‘Snapchat’ and ‘Facebook live’ allow me to let my personality shine through more all the time.

Which Social Media Channel Has Most Impact on Your Business?

I’m still all about Facebook! I use it to offer quality quantity, support existing clients and attract new clients. People say every year that Facebook is dead but it’s still number one in my eyes. I think it’s important to have collected lots of e-mail addresses so that you do have control if Facebook or any other platform does ‘die’ but for me I’m still a Facebook fan.

What is Your Greatest Digital Marketing Struggle Right Now?

The struggle now is the number of people in the same space as me that weren’t there in recent years.  Online training programs were rare four years ago when I started, now every trainer has one. However, I think it’s good for everyone as it forces us to up our efforts with the content we are delivering and to be more creative with our marketing.

How Do You Integrate Your Online and Offline Marketing Strategy?

My whole business is online now!  Around the time of the OMiG awards last year I sold my gym so that I had complete freedom and now I travel 5-6 months of the year and do everything online. My online, offline marketing strategy is selected public speaking engagements and at those I’ll collect e-mails or drive people to my website for free content.
